The Winbond W25X20CL is a 2M-bit Serial Flash memory device that provides a storage solution for systems with limited space, pins, and power requirements. The W25X20CL is part of the 25X series, which offers flexibility and performance beyond ordinary Serial Flash devices, making it ideal for code download applications as well as storing voice, text, and data.

Function & Applications

Designed to operate using a single 2.3V to 3.6V power supply, the W25X20CL consumes as low as 1mA active and 1µA in power-down mode. The device is well-suited for applications that require data and parameter storage, thanks to its small 4KB sectors that provide greater flexibility. Additionally, the W25X20CL supports the standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), allowing for high-performance dual output and Dual I/O SPI.

Performance Parameters

The W25X20CL can support SPI clock frequencies up to 104MHz, which is equivalent to clock rates of 208MHz when using the Fast Read Dual Output instruction. The Continuous Read Mode allows for efficient memory access and true XIP (execute in place) operation. The device has a lifespan of more than 100,000 erase/write cycles and over 20 years of data retention.
