Product Description

KA44170A is a high efficiency single phase motor driver IC with built-in Soft Switching function for low noise operation. It is suitable for applications having input voltages of 12V and 24V both making it suitable for applications like home appliances and battery-operated cooling apparatus. An automatic phase adjustment function in the IC is provided to optimize the soft switching section and its current, so it is possible to drive the motor with low noise and high efficiency regardless of the type of motor and operating environment with a small number of components. It has a lock detection pin embedded to give the controller a message that motor is locked thereby improving the safety of operation of the motor. There is Selectable startup mode option available to us in case we want to further increase the efficiency by controlling with PWM input or at 50% duty cycle. The motor driver has a Stand By mode which utilizes low current to increase the efficiency during standby state by regulating the current flow during no usage state to 300mA.

Features

The motor speed is controlled by direct PWM input. With a wide input voltage range of 12V/24V, this IC is most suitable for usage in home appliances, office automation and factory automation (for high speed fan motor < 15krpm) equipment.
